SHARON BALA lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She is a member of The Port Authority writing group. The Boat People is her first novel and was a finalist for Canada Reads 2018 and the 2018 Amazon Canada First Novel Award. Her short story “Butter Tea at Starbucks” won the 2017 Journey Prize.
