CASPER, CLAUDIA’s first novel, The Reconstruction, was the object of a bidding war, quickly reached bestseller lists where it stayed for months, was published in Germany, the UK, and the U.S. and was optioned for film. The Continuation of Love by Other Means, her second novel was short-listed for the Ethel Wilson BC Book Prize. Her post-apocalyptic, West Coast novel, The Mercy Journals, won the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Prize. Her writing has appeared in the Globe and Mail, the Vancouver Sun, Geist, Event, Best Canadian Short Stories (Oberon), the anthology Dropped Threads: What We Aren’t Told (Vintage), edited by Carol Shields and Marjorie Anderson. She is currently writing a screenplay for a 3D France/Canada coproduction feature film of The Reconstruction.
