Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, although several events sell out, so we recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Is there a ticket box office?
The ticket box office is held at the actual venue of each event, prior to each event.
What sessions does the festival pass include?
The Festival Pass includes access to all reading events and workshops. When there are concurrent events you must choose one event.
What sessions does the reading pass include?
The Reading Pass includes access to all reading events. When there are concurrent events you must choose one event.
Does the ticket include accommodation?
The host hotel – The Fairmont Chateau Whistler offers, offers “Bed and Book” Packages which include accommodation and a festival pass. Check out the Accommodation page for more details.
Can I come late to the event?
If you are late our volunteers will help you find a seat when there is an appropriate break in the presentation.
Should I print my ticket and bring my receipt?
Where can I buy tickets if I don’t have a computer? Or don’t want to buy them on line?
Whistler Writers Festival tickets for reading events only are available at Armchair Books (cash only for purchases at Armchair). Otherwise you can buy tickets at the door if the event is not sold out.
What should I wear?
This is Whistler, so dress casually, comfortably, or go fancy! Anything goes. If you are attending a workshop you may wish to bring a sweater.
Where do I park?
For free parking in the daytime, go to Lot 4 or 5. It’s a short walk to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Whistler Public Library, Maury Young Arts Centre or Audain Art Museum. All of these venues will be hosting some 2018 festival events. Lots 1 – 3 have pay parking during the day, and Lots 4 & 5 have free parking. Lots 1 – 5 have free parking after 5pm. The Fairmont Chateau and Whistler Public Library have pay parking.
Where can I eat?
Whistler has many eateries in the Upper Village and in the Village. In the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, you’ll find Portobello’s for casual dining and grab-and-go meals, and the Wildflower for fine dining. We recommend restaurant Pasta Lupino and The Grocery Store in the Village.
