Get your writer’s brain whirling! We’ve got lots of activities storming towards us: a FREE workshop; the phenomenal Writer in Residence program (this one fills up fast!); and the Comedy Quickies Writing Contest.Come meet other local writers at The Whistler Writing Society’s Annual General Meeting, August 22nd from 6-7 pm, at the Whistler Public Library. Afterwards, author kc dyer will lead a free workshop from 7-9pm called The Peripatetic Writer — What to Keep In Mind When Travelling for Research. All are welcome to AGM and workshop.
kc dyer’s most recent novel—a romantic comedy for grown-ups—is FINDING FRASER, first published in 2015, and reissued in a new Berkley edition in 2016. For teens, kc’s most recent work is FACING FIRE, a sequel to the acclaimed novel, A WALK THROUGH A WINDOW, and published by Doubleday. She has been writer-in-residence at New Westminster Secondary School, and a featured presenter at the National Council of English Teachers in both Philadelphia, PA and Chicago, Ill; YouthWrite in Penticton, BC; Young Authors in Kamloops, BC and many others.

Whistler Writer in Residence
We’re absolutely delighted to host Caroline Adderson in Whistler, to work with writers on their manuscripts, and lead writing craft workshops in September and October. Caroline is the award-winning author of four novels, two collections of short stories, as well as many books for young readers.  She is also the editor and co-contributor of a non-fiction book of essays and photographs, Vancouver Vanishes: Narratives of Demolition and Revival. Comedy Quickies Writing Contest Opens!
Part-writing contest, part irreverent variety show, we want to bring those kooky ideas from your twisted mind to the stage.
