NICHOLSON, CECILY

c_nicholsonCECILY NICHOLSON has worked, since 2000, on Musqueam-, Squamish-, and Tsleil-Waututh-occupied lands known as Vancouver, in the Downtown Eastside neighbourhood, most recently as administrator for the artist-run centre and mental health resource, Gallery Gachet. A part of the Joint Effort prison abolitionist group and appointed to the Ethics Research Board for Emily Carr University of Art + Design, Cecily Nicholson coordinates school and public programs at the Surrey Art Gallery. She is the author of TriageFrom the Poplars, winner of the Dorothy Livesay BC Poetry Prize; and Wayside Sang, winner of the Governor General’s award for poetry, 2018.
