Oakey-Baker, Susan

OAKEY-BAKER, SUSAN is a local Whistler author, public speaker, teacher, guide, and artist. She has explored the outdoors all over the world and has guided more than 150 people, ranging in age from sixteen to eighty-five, to the top of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro. Her first book, Finding Jim, was launched in October 2013 by Rocky Mountain Books. Her second novel about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is close to completion. She has presented to audiences as small as twenty and as big as seven hundred. Susan grew up in Vancouver and now lives in Whistler with her husband, Joe, and their eleven-year-old son, Sam.
