DE LEEUW, SARAH

SARAH DE LEEUW spent her formative years and most of her adult life in northern British Columbia. She is an award-winning writer and researcher who, as a Canada Research Chair, now works in a faculty of medicine where she uses the arts to humanize healthcare. Her most recent work of poetry, Lot, was published in 2022 by Caitlin Press. Lot considers the ways in which words and languages form and embolden coloniality and create unequal imaginings and power in a place. Through structure, form, and sound, these poems insist on the possibilities of poetry to create better worlds, to utter something anew.
