Written by Lorna Crozier | #NoOneSucceedsAlone

From the desk where I write, I can roll back in my chair, stick my head out the door and ask, “How do you spell…?” Patrick, my companion for forty years, and who works at his desk in the room right next to mine, sometimes answers. Other times he tells me he’s in the middle of his own poem and to leave him alone. No matter what his response, he’s been beside me most of my writing life, encouraging my mad obsession with poetry, boosting me up when I feel down, listening to me, believing in me. And then there are his poems, which inspired me before we met, and made me feel, even then, there’s someone out there who gets me, who makes me know I’m not crazy, I’m not alone.
