REBECCA WOOD BARRETT is a writer and filmmaker based in Whistler, living and creating on the unceded, shared territory of the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation. Her middle-grade fiction book My Summer Camp Has Mega Sloths is a finalist for the 2026/27 Chocolate Lily Award. Her debut novel in the series, My Best Friend Is Extinct was a finalist for the Red Cedar Award and won the Chocolate Lily Award. Rebecca enjoys supporting writers through teaching, editing and career consultation. She has been involved with The Whistler Writing Society since its birth in 2001, and has held the role of artistic & executive director since 2022.
