Our Amplifying Voices Scholarship helps local writers reach for their writing dreams by providing one participant a free spot in our Whistler Writer in Residence program. This scholarship supports underrepresented voices in Canadian publishing, particularly those who are Indigenous, racialized, Deaf or hard of hearing, living with a disability, and/or LGBTQ2S+. A scholarship is awarded to one student per year. Our Amplifying Voices Scholarship is open for applications until August 1st every year.

Application Criteria:

Applicants must be Indigenous, racialized, Deaf or hard of hearing, disabled, and/or people who identify as being on the LGBTQ2S+ spectrum

Our priority is to support applicants who are living in the Sea to Sky Corridor, from Lions Bay to Lillooet at the time of their application

Applicants do not need to be published authors. Emerging and established writers and storytellers are welcome to apply.

Submit a short bio, one paragraph outlining why you want to participate in the program including how it will further your writing goals, and a short description of the writing project you will work on while in the program (maximum 300 words)

Deadline to apply is August 1st, 11:59pm.
