YOUNG, TERENCE

TERENCE YOUNG taught English and creative writing at St. Michaels University School and co-founded and edited The Claremont Review. His first collection of poetry, The Island in Winter, was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Gerald Lampert Award. His writing has been nominated for the Danuta Gleed award; the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize; the City of Victoria Butler Book Prize – winning it for After Goodlake’s. In 2008, he was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. His latest poetry collection is Smithereens (Harbour Publishing). Young lives in Victoria BC.
