KNIGHT, CHELENE

CHELENE KNIGHT is the author of a poetry collection, Braided Skin. Her memoir, Dear Current Occupant, won the 2018 Vancouver Book Award, and was longlisted for the George Ryga Award for Social Awareness in Literature. Her essays have appeared in multiple Canadian and American literary journals and newspapers. She has worked as a professor of poetry at the University of Toronto and Chelene founded her literary studio, Breathing Space Creative, through which she launched The Forever Writers Club, which fosters creative sustainability. Chelene works as a literary agent with the Transatlantic Agency and is currently writing a commissioned book on Black self-love & joy (HarperCollins Canada). Her first novel is Junie (Book*hug Press).
