One of our most popular events is Pitch Your Heart Out! This is a one-on-one online sit-down with a trade publishing pro and it’s your big chance to pitch your work to an industry insider and bet on your literary dreams. Use this precious one-on-one time with some of Canada’s most respected publishing decision-makers to pitch your book, story idea, or poetry collection.

This year we’ve got Cody Caetano (CookeMcDermid), Catharine Chen and Jesmine Cham (Arsenal Pulp Press), Don Gorman (Rocky Mountain Books), Vici Johnstone (Caitlin Press), James Penco (Greystone Books), Stephanie Sinclair (McClelland & Stewart), and Jen Sookfong Lee (ECW Press) ready to sit down with you and hear your best idea or story.

You get 15 minutes so come prepared with a five minute pitch or questions for these publishers, editors, and agents. The session fee includes your 15 minutes and are only available on a first-come, first-choice basis and you can only book up to four pitches in total. 

We strongly recommend researching our guest insiders so that you know what types of books they publish and are interested in so you don’t end up pitching to someone who doesn’t work with your genre.
