The Whistler Writing Society is pleased to invite all members of the public to its Annual General Meeting via Zoom link, or in-person at the Whistler Museum, September 11, 2023.

AGM In-person Start: Pizza and chat 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. PDT | FREE (RSVP)

AGM Zoom start: 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. PDT | FREE (RSVP)

After the meeting, participants are welcome to enjoy a free Oral Storytelling Workshop with Yvonne Wallace: 6:30-7:30 p.m. PDT | FREE (RSVP)


We also encourage participants to apply to be a storyteller at the festival in our event Word of Mouth: Telling Our Stories in the Oral Tradition with Tsawaysia Spukwus and Yvonne Wallace.

YVONNE WALLACE (Ucwalmicw) is from the Lil’wat Nation and a graduate of Humber College’s Theatre Acting program and holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Capilano University. She has written three plays: Smothered Sweetly, The Last Dance, and ustzan, a play dealing with language reclamation and her own progress in language fluency. She teaches ucwalmicwts to other adult learners at the Ts’zil Learning Centre. She’s currently writing 7 Misconceptions of a Half-Breed Mother, a tragicomedy about the public-school system.

Membership is free or by donation, and lasts for one year. Your membership will help maintain the Whistler Writing Society’s mission to support the literary arts within our Sea to Sky community. Members vote at our annual general meetings and receive updates on all programs and events via e-newsletters.
