Wayne Grady is the author of the novel Emancipation Day, which won the 2014 Amazon.ca First Novel Award and was named one of the CBC’s Ten Best Books of the Year. He is also the author of 14 books of nonfiction, including Breakfast at the Exit Cafe, a travel memoir co-authored with his wife, novelist Merilyn Simonds, and The Great Lakes, which won a National Outdoor Book Award. He has won a Governor General’s Award for Literary Translation, and currently teaches creative nonfiction in UBC’s Creative Writing Program as well as at Sage Hill, Saskatchewan. He and Merilyn live in Kingston, Ontario, and spend part of their time in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
